Philip Poole
BMG Full Guide
Bio: Philip has been climbing, canoeing, caving and skiing for over 35 years and has instructional qualifications in all those disciplines. He has climbed in many parts of the world, including Africa, North America, Peru, the Arctic, Antarctica, Japan and the Alps. He has also worked for two summer seasons for the British Antarctic Survey as a field guide and he has been an IFMGA Mountain Guide since 1989, running Alpine ski tours, climbs and treks. He was a member of the British Mountain Guides Training Committee from 1996 - 2003 and ran the summer training scheme for new candidates to the Association during that time. He currently offers rock and ice climbing courses, expeditions to unclimbed peaks in Greenland, Alpine ski tours, canyoning and via ferrata courses. He also works for a management training company as International Safety Advisor, advising on outdoor safety systems, training staff and assessing competence.
