Bio: For the past 20 years Lawrence has worked for a number of outdoor/adventure wilderness programs. He has split his time guiding wilderness technical back country courses and the other half working with under served populations in the mountains, rivers and deserts of the west. The clients that he has worked with age from middle schoolers to adults. Lawrence is continually looking for new ways he can challenge his students, and devotes much of his time to taking classes to expand and improve his ability to work with people. Specialties: Working with under-served youth, working with youth of privilege, and anyone in between. Working with academically struggling youth and adults. Experiential Education based facilitation. Managing wilderness instructors at a base camp. Training staff and students in backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, human skills, diversity, and emotional intelligence. Managing expedition logistics, including gear and food. Training and mentoring incoming wilderness and educational staff. Goal setting and life development skills. Therapeutic behavior management skills.
