Bio: James Marc Beverly is a IFMGA Mountain Guide (AMGA #69, IFMGA #11335), providing guiding and technical rope services for over 30 years to clients all over the world. He has developed and taught Strike Rescue technical rope rescue courses which were contracted with universities and military, has done independent research with published papers on rock and ice anchors, and brings a perspective of optimal performance with a PhD in exercise science. Marc was on the executive board for the UIAA and work closely with the Safety Commission from 2014 to 2018. He was the USA Mountain Rescue Association delegate to the International Commission of Alpine Rescue. He continues as a Expert Member on the UIAA Safety Commission from 2018 to present and has worked on stress corrosion cracking of bolted anchors, establishing safety labels for avalanche safety equipment, and provides support for the internal working groups. Marc loves to push his abilities and has competed at the international world ice climbing competitions for nearly a decade and climbed at the 2014 Sochi ice climbing event. He's published a climbing guide book, put up hundreds of routes and first ascents on rock and ice, multiple first ski descents, and is always up for a unique challenge. He is a AIARE Course Provider and Course Leader.
