Bio: Tom has made Outdoor and Adventure Recreation his life's work since discovering the industry as an impressionable college student at Bloomsburg university. Over the last 2 decades Tom has worn many hats. He likes to think of himself as a Jack of all Trades. Tom got his start instructing climbing and backpacking courses for the Quest program at Bloomsburg University. Since Graduating in 2003 Tom has worked as Therapeutic Wilderness Instructor, managed climbing walls and ropes courses, spent time as a lead canoeing and backpacking Instructor for Outward Bound and lead Youth and Adult Trail Crews in Maine and Alaska. Currently Tom works full-time as the Director of Risk management, Transportation and Adventure Programs for Yellow Breeches Educational Center. YBEC is a private academic school that uses a highly adventure based curriculum to reach special education students with emotional problems that are at risk of failing in the traditional academic setting. In his spare time Tom can be found guiding private clients at one of central PA's hidden rock climbing treasures or more likely embarking on a family adventure with his two young boys and ever understanding wife. Tom is currently certified as an AMGA SPI, CWI Provider, CWI Lead, WFR, WFA instructor, CPR/AED instructor, Swift Water Rescue Technician, LNT Trainer and has been an ACA level 3 river canoe instructor and wilderness lifeguard.
