Bio: Scott Johnson has been managing the Smith Outdoor Adventure Program since 1999. He splits his time between teaching at the climbing wall, boathouse, leading outdoor trips and helping oversee the Smith first-year student orientation leadership program. In addition, Johnson is also an adjunct member of the Smith faculty, teaching outdoor skills courses in the department of Exercise and Sports Studies. His passions include rock climbing, whitewater paddling, skiing and snowboarding, back country travel, mountaineering, and mountain biking. Scott holds several instructor level certifications including ACA whitewater kayak, WW Canoe, Swiftwater rescue, AMGA single pitch rock climbing and wilderness medicine. Johnson is a graduate from the University of Montana School of Forestry and Recreation management where he received his education in the mountains as much as in the classroom.
