Bio: Originally from the United Kingdom, Adam grew up in the heart of the Peak District National Park climbing the local Grit and Limestone. He started instructing and guiding in the U.K. in 1989 and since then has climbed and guided in such places as Europe, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Australia and extensively in the U.K., U.S.A. and New Zealand. Adam started guiding in North Carolina in 1994, and gained the highest level of rock certification in the US, the American Mountain Guides Association Rock Guide Certification in 2001. He founded Fox Mountain Guides in 2004, selling the business in 2012. In 2004 he spearheaded the creation of the AMGA's Single Pitch Instructor Program as the National Discipline Coordinator, and collaborated with the Union Internationale des Associations d'Alpinisme (UIAA) over three years to have the AMGA SPI Program endorsed by the UIAA in 2008. He worked for the AMGA teaching and examining higher level AMGA courses in the rock discipline as a member of the AMGA Instructor Team across the USA from 2001-2012. Adam is also a past member of the AMGA's Technical Committee and a past member of the AMGA Board of Directors. He holds a B.A. (Hons) in Outdoor Education from Derby University (England). Adam is currently based on the North Island of New Zealand with his partner Megan and two daughters. He travels annually to the USA and Europe.
