Suraj Kushwaha
AMGA Climbing Wall Instructor
City: Williston
Province: VT
Bio: I am an aspiring guide and scholar of Himalayan mountaineering currently studying and working based out of Princeton University. I have taken two years off from school to pursue intensive Hindi language study and explore the Himalaya. My achievements include the federal Boren scholarship, the Mellon Mays undergraduate fellowship, the rank of Eagle Scout, and a black belt in the Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do. Currently I formally instruct lead climbing indoors and top-rope climbing outdoors for Princeton University. Informally, in my free time, I guide friends and colleagues on waterfall ice, rock, and alpine/ski terrain in VT, NH, NY, and CO. I hope to guide formally upon gaining more experience and further training in the outdoor disciplines. I am committed to promoting diversity in the outdoors community by opening avenues for people from historically underrepresented groups in mountain climbing.
