Bio: I was originally born in Roanoke, Virginia and spent my early childhood living in the Appalachian Foothills, climbing trees, fishing in creeks, and rolling in the occasional patch of poison ivy. Our family moved to the metro Atlanta area where I went to high school in Cobb County and then went to Georgia Tech to major in Chemical Engineering. I moved to Louisiana to pursue my career and there I met my future wife Anna, who was a ballet dancer and invited me to see her dance the Arabian in the Nut Cracker. We moved from Baton Rouge to Houston to start our new life together. My childhood tree climbing days were all but a distant memory in the concrete jungle of Houston until I embarked on a hiking trip in New Mexico. Climbing through the Sandia Mountains, I reconnected with my passion for the outdoors and it was undeniable that the outdoors would have to be a regular part of my life. Shortly after that trip, I quit my job in Houston and my wife and I moved just north of Atlanta to start a family and be within striking distance of the Great Smoky Mountains. I started two companies in Atlanta, a real estate investment company and also a outdoor leadership company called Summit Seekers Experience. Both companies have grown over the past few years and I have recently left my corporate job to focus on Summit Seekers Experience full time. Also, Anna and I have grown a family and we now have three great kids, Johnny (6), Naomi (4), and Heidi (8 months). When I'm not chasing them around, you can find me running up some mountain somewhere with the same spirit of a young boy seeing the world for the first time.
