AMGA Alpine Guide

City: Hailey

Province: ID

Bio: I began guiding in 1999, received my IFMGA Certification in 2011, and SPI Provider status in 2022. I am an Idaho native and guide climbing trips in summer and backcountry ski trips in winter. In addition, I travel during the shoulder seasons to nearby states for more climbing adventures. After graduating college, I moved to Japan, where I lived and taught English for 2 years. After gaining IFMGA certification, it was logical step to start running trips there. Since 2013, prior to covid, I was spending a good part of each winter guiding in Japan. I've also guided several trips to Norway, Italy and the European Alps over the years. But Idaho is my home base, and with a family I have been looking to create more work opportunities closer to home. I enjoy instructing and see the SPI courses and assessments as a way of sharing my experience and training with others.
