Michael Bretz AMGA

AMGA Single Pitch Instructor

City: Horn Lake

Province: MS

Bio: As long as I can remember, I've always loved being outside I started climbing seriously in 2017 and haven't looked back sense. Anytime I am outside guiding or climbing. I always think, "Why would I want to do anything else." While living in Washington and pursuing a career in the outdoor industry, North Cascades National Park is where I fell in love with mountaineering, getting out as much as I could and wearing out my copy of freedom of the hills. In 2020 I relocated back to Memphis, TN and began my journey of becoming a guide. In August of 2022 I took my SPI course at Red River Gorge and as of June 2023, after passing my SPI exam and Wilderness First Responder, I have been guiding with a non-profit called Memphis Outdoor Climbing School. I have been climbing in Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas, and Illinois.
