Rupert Wedgwood
ACMG Mountain Guide
Bio: My mountaineering started in 1986 while working as a scientific field technician for the British Antarctic Survey. I arrived in Canada in 1990 and volunteered that winter with the snow study program in Kananaskis Country. In the summer of 1991 I started working for the National Parks as a Park Warden in Banff. My interesting in mountaineering drew me into the Public Safety programs with Parks. By the mid 1990's I was taking ACMG guides training and progressing through the examination process as well as taking avalanche courses with the Canadian Avalanche Associaiton. I have worked in many of the SAR and avalanche forecasting control programs within Parks Canada. Since 2001 I have worked in the visitor safety program in Jasper National Park.
